Cool Ways To Tie A Scarf Using Scarf Ring

There are many ways to tie a scarf, some just knot the ends together, some uses a scarf ring. The use of a scarf ring not long makes tying easier, but also it looks neater and prettier, certain decorative knots have to be done with the aid of a scarf ring.

Most commonly found scarf rings in the market can be divided into two categories: single opening or double opening. Single opening scarf rings usually have the shape of a cylinder, they slide on both ends of a scarf to hold them together. Sometimes, fashionistas like to thread them throw a scarf as a decoration rather than a knotting agent. For more complicated knots such as the waterfall knot, a double-opening scarf rings is a must.

Like its coveted silk and cashmere scarves, Hermes also makes exquisite scarf rings with popular materials like plated metal, resin, leather and horn. Every year, Hermes publishes scarf how-to knotting cards to teach its patrons ways to tie a scarf. We gathered a few examples involving a scarf ring:

Of all the scarf rings Hermes make, the oval one made of horn is the most popular for the lightweight and smoothness of polished horn, a horn scarf ring can be used with all fabric types, even the sleek silk jersey, without the worry of sliding. At Cheri Couture, we enhanced Hermes' basic double-opening scarf ring design, and add variations in size and shape. The four designs we have, petite oval, grande oval, narrow oblong and wide oblong, each has its own unique character that makes it more a better tying tool than others for a particular type of scarf. The grande oval one, for example, is best with 90cm (medium volume) scarves whereas the narrow oblong scarf ring ties a beautiful scarf belt.

Wide Shawl Ring -- best for 53"cashmere shawls and other large scarves.
Narrow Shawl Ring -- best for 90cm silk or other larger scarves that is over 90cm
Grande Scarf Ring -- best for 90cm silk and cotton scarves
Petite Scarf Ring -- best for 70cm silk scarves, pocket squares and twills
